Michael La Vean
Founder and Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Michael La Vean is a experienced inventor and business man in the field of reproductive health care. Mr. La Vean has already founded and piloted one company, VEOS PLC, through to a successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 1999. Mr. La Vean is also experienced in regulation, having successfully taken products through both the FDA and an EC Notified Body (GMED). The Oves Cervical Cap was named Gynecologic Innovation of the Year in 1999 in France and Italy. Mr. La Vean left VEOS in June of 2001.

Michael La Vean has several US and International patents in reproductive health care, including The Conception Kit and Conception Cap. He is active on many Industry Boards including the Alliance for Microbicide Development. Michael La Vean is also a member of The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP).  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Franco-American Institute, Rennes, France and is a Fellow in the International Napoleonic Society. Mr. La Vean is married and has one child, age 12.


Brian Bishop
Chairman of the Board, Conceivex, Inc.

Brian Bishop is Chairman of the Board. As Chairman of the Board, Mr. Bishop will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Conceivex, Inc. He brings over 35 years of expertise in the distribution industry to the Company. Prior to joining the Conceivex team Mr. Bishop was President of Bishop Distributing.  While president he acquired two companies, and grew revenue form 12 million to 32 million.
 

Mr. Bishop is married and has two children.

 

 


Honorable Nannette M. Bowler, J.D.
President/CEO and Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Nannette M. Bowler has been an attorney for 20 years.  She served as Probate Judge of Ionia County, Michigan before becoming President/CEO of Conceivex, Inc.  Prior to her Probate Judge position, she honed her business and leadership skills as a Cabinet Member and Director of the Family Independence Agency for the State of Michigan.  As Director she oversaw 22 programs, 11,000 employees and a 4 billion dollar budget, including 40 streams of federal and state funding. She has served as Legal Counsel to former Lt. Governor Connie Binsfeld, authoring a series of bills introduced by the Lt. Governor that came to be known as the Binsfeld Children’s Legislation. She has also served as Co-Founder/Legal Director of a non-profit organization called the Children's Law Center and is a former assistant prosecutor.
 
Nannette is currently a member of the State Bar of Michigan, and a selected member of the Fellows of the State Bar of Michigan.  She is past member of the Michigan Association of Children Alliances, the Children's Task Force for the State Bar of Michigan, the National Association of Counsel for Children, the National Committee for the Rights of the Child Legal Action Project Advisory Board, and a past associate member of the American Bar Association Task Force on Children.
 
In 1993, Nannette was name 1 of 7 Americans to receive the prestigious national award from the Foundation for the Improvment of Justice, Inc.  She was cited for her innovative and dedicated work in advancing justice for children and families.

Ms. Bowler has five adult children and two granddaughters.


Carol Lomas
Vice President and Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Carol J. Lomas is Vice President of Conceivex has an extensive background with over 25 years in Marketing and Public Relations.
She has held senior executive positions in both sales and marketing with Young Broadcasting and most recently with Journal Broadcasting Group. Her resume includes over 25 years of marketing and award-winning television producing/production work for clients across the United States.
While employed with Young Broadcasting, Ms. Lomas was responsible for the corporate training and implementation program. She also managed 60 account executives and worked with retail clients on a nationwide level.

Her recent awards include: 2001 Michigan Broadcasters award for Promotional Production/Industrial Video, 2001 Journal Broadcasting Trail Blazer Award, 2001 Journal Broadcasting Leadership Award, 2003 Michigan Broadcasters award for Broadcaster Excellence in Commercial Production, 2003 Journal Broadcasting Strategic Seller Award and the 2003 Michigan AD Club’s Silver Addy for Commercial Production.

Ms. Lomas is married and has one child, age 11. .


Richard C. Fairchild, CPA
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Mr. Fairchild is a practicing Certified Public Accountant and shareholder of Fairchild, Lebel & Rice, PC. Mr. Fairchild has worked in accounting since 1973, and in public accounting since 1979.

Mr. Fairchild has taught, published articles and spoken on various tax and accounting topics to groups such as the Small Business Administration, the Michigan Society of Association Executives, Lansing Community College and numerous other organizations. Mr. Fairchild is a regular instructor of continuing professional education for the Michigan Association of CPAs.

Mr. Fairchild and his firm, Fairchild, Lebel & Rice, PC, have worked with small businesses, trade associations, employee benefit plans, estates and trusts for 25 years. The practice encompasses general auditing and accounting, auditing and accounting for employee benefit plans under ERISA, taxation with an emphasis on planning, estate planning and general business consulting.

Prior to opening his public practice, Mr. Fairchild served as the controller of a manufacturing business, the chief financial officer of a hydrogeological and environmental consulting firm, and a college accounting instructor.

Mr. Fairchild is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Michigan Association of CPAs.
Mr. Fairchild is married and has two children and five grandchildren.


Jane Aldrich
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.
Ms. Aldrich is the lead news anchor for WLNS TV, a CBS affiliate in Lansing. Ms. Aldrich has been in the television news business for over 20 years.

Ms. Aldrich was personally requested by the White House to host a Town Hall meeting in Lansing on Medicare with former President, Bill Clinton.
Ms. Aldrich is an award winning reporter, earning the prestigious "Ben East Conservation Journalist Award" for promoting recycling in the state of Michigan, and was recognized by the Governor for environmental reporting.

Jane is active in the community, serving on several non-profit boards, and helping with fundraising. Those organizations include the Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Historical Museum, Boarshead Theatre, The Greater Lansing Food Bank, Hospice House of Mid-Michigan and the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy.

Ms. Aldrich married with one child.

Phil Mansour
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.
Phil Mansour is the principal of PMC Solutions, an independently owned company that provides consulting services in Organizational Change Management, Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Research and Development to diverse publics. Mansour draws on his 22+ years experience as a senior manager and administrative team member in organizations that range in size from the small, Inc 500 organizations to Fortune 500 companies. He has led organizations through mergers and acquisitions, management transitions, consolidationsand expansions, and business development in new markets. His administrative experience includes such domestic and international activities as leading organizations in 7 states and collaborating and partnering with firms in Europe, Asia, South America and Canada. 
 
Mr. Mansour has held top-level positions at CompassLearning, NCS Learn, Computer Curriculum Corporation and Invest Learning; these include Vice President for Strategic Initiatives,Chief Technology Officer,Vice President of Adaptive Learning Systems and Adult Learning, and Vice President of Research and Product Development. 
 
Phil Mansour resides in Michigan with his wife of 11 years and 2 daughters. 

Robert C. Lecy
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Mr. Robert Lecy is President of Lecy Insurance Agency, Inc.
Mr. Lecy is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Mr. Lecy started Lecy Insurance Agency in 1975 and founded America One, Inc. in 1980. America One is an insurance agency franchise system with 35 franchises located throughout Michigan. Mr. Lecy was also President of America One of Lansing, Inc. from 1980 until 2005.

Mr. Lecy is closely associated with Independent Insurance Agents of America, Michigan Home Builders Association, Michigan Concrete Association and Associated Builders & Contractors.

Mr. Lecy has served on the boards of Builders' Redi-Mix, Inc., Child & Family Services of Greater Lansing and Associated Builders & Contractors of Central Michigan.


Sandra Hudson
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Ms. Hudson was a successful business owner of healthcare-related enterprise, and has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. Ms. Hudson founded Alternative Payment Sources, Inc. in 1990. The company assisted numerous hospitals within Michigan to aid uninsured patients in pursuing third-party insurance payer eligibility.

Ms. Hudson worked with Medicaid, SSI, Medicare, RSDI, Uninsured Motorists Fund, and other potential payers. Her work included representing patients in formal hearings required to establish patient eligibility. Ms. Hudson sold her business in 2003 and is currently a full-time nursing student and part-time consultant.

Her current and past professional affiliations include National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives, National Association for Female Executives, Inc., Healthcare Financial Management Association, Patient Accounts Managers Association of Michigan and Michigan Patient Accounting Association.

She was appointed in 1995 as a charter member of RENEW's National Council of Women Advisors to Congress, she was selected as one of Michigan's top 25 business owners in 1997 by the National Association of Women Business Owners, and she was featured in the Lansing State Journal Business Extra (March 10, 1997 edition) "Compassionate Collector".

Her community and professional service includes having served on the Small Business Task Force for the State of Michigan, as a panelist in the Women in Business Conference, as a participant at the Ingham County Business Leaders Round Table Discussions and as a participant in the process of developing an organized system of health care for the uninsured in Ingham County, Michigan.

Ms. Hudson is married and has four children, three step-children and two grandchildren.


Dr. Dennis Stepanovich
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Dr. Stepanovich is a doctor of chiropractic health, and practices in Lansing, Michigan. In 1985 Dr. Stepanovich graduated Life Chiropractic College, Magna Cum Laude. Prior to becoming a doctor of chiropractic health, Dr. Stepanovich co-owned and operated Stepanovich Brothers' Market in Lansing, Michigan, a full line grocery store/liquor store/fresh meat market. In addition, Dr. Stepanovich bought, remodeled, and operated eleven residential rental units. In 1981 he sold his interest in these properties to pursue chiropractic health. Today he co-owns and practices with his wife and business partner in Lansing Chiropractic Clinic, P.C.


Robert L. Hood
Board Member, Conceivex, Inc.

Mr. Hood is a corporate business attorney and certified public accountant for Willingham & Cote, PC of East Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Hood, a director and past president of the firm, was admitted to the Michigan State Bar Association in 1967 and has a general business practice representing a broad spectrum of business clients operating as corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, joint ventures, limited liability companies, professional corporations and professional limited liability companies. Mr. Hood also deals extensively with trade associations and tax exempt entities and with matters pertaining to various forms of taxation, securities issues, insurance entity forms and alternatives.

In addition to membership in the Michigan Bar Association and the Ingham County Bar Association, he is admitted to practice in both the Eastern and Western District, United States District Courts of Michigan, the United States Tax Court, the United States Supreme Court, is a Fellow of the Michigan Bar Foundation, is a Member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Accounting Research Association.

Mr. Hood was a member of the adjunct faculty at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School from 1978 to 1985 teaching courses in accounting for lawyers and business planning, and currently is a facilitator with the Michigan Society of Association Executives CAE Academy in the area of legal aspects of association operations. He regularly prepares material for and lectures in various continuing education programs in his area of practice focus. Mr. Hood is a regular contributing columnist for a number of trade associations and business-oriented periodicals and has a number of speaking credits pertaining to business, taxation, tax exempt organizations, and succession planning issues.

Mr. Hood is a Director of FMG2 Group, Inc., a Texas insurance holding company, F.M. Global Insurance Agency and Great Midwest Insurance Company, and is a three time winner of the People's Choice Award as "Best Attorney" voted by the readers of the Towne Courier and Ingham County News.

Mr. Hood is married and has three children and two grandchildren.
